SHAH RUKH KHAN SET AS PRESENTER AT GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS
HOLLYWOOD, CA, January 9, 2009 – Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood’s biggest film star and recently named by Newsweek as one of the 50 most powerful people in the world (the only film star on the list), has been set as a presenter at “The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards” to be telecast live on NBC Sunday, January 11 (8 – 11 p.m. EST) at The Beverly Hilton.
He joins previously announced presenters Simon Baker, Drew Barrymore, Pierce Brosnan, Sandra Bullock, Gerard Butler, Glenn Close, Sacha Baron Cohen, Sean Combs, Johnny Depp, Cameron Diaz, David Duchovny, Aaron Eckhart, Zac Efron, Laurence Fishburne, Megan Fox, Ricky Gervais, Jake Gyllenhaal, Salma Hayek, The Jonas Brothers, Jessica Lange, Blake Lively, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Hayden Panettiere, Chris Pine, Amy Poehler, Zachary Quinto, Seth Rogen, Martin Scorsese, Sting and Mark Wahlberg.
Steven Spielberg will receive this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his “outstanding contribution to the entertainment field.”
The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards” will be seen in more than 160 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements.
“The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards” will take place Sunday, January 11, 2009 at The Beverly Hilton with a live telecast airing on NBC at 8 p.m. (EST) and produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Jorge Camara is President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Orly Adelson, president of dcp and Barry Adelman will executive produce. Chris Donovan is the director and dcp's Bob Bardo is the executive in charge of production.

第66屆金球獎(Golden Globe)頒獎典禮，於美國時間 1月11日晚間 8時起在洛杉磯舉行。2008年的編劇罷工潮使第65屆金球獎淪為一場記者會，只讀完得獎名單便草草收場。今年金球獎盛大舉行，許多重量級明星都前來捧場，而公益慈善的主題希望在經濟不景氣中帶來一絲暖意。
席間眾星雲集，有銀色夫妻安潔莉娜裘莉(Angelina Jolie)和布萊德彼特(Brad Pitt)，還有皮爾斯布洛斯南(Pierce Brosnan)、達斯汀霍夫曼(Dustin Hoffman)、伊娃曼德斯(Eva Mendes)、蘇珊莎蘭登(Susan Sarandon)等，歌手史汀 (Sting)亦將登台頒獎。除歐美明星之外，大會還請到印度寶萊塢超紅男星沙魯克罕(Shah Rukh Khan)擔任頒獎來賓，他也是2008年《Newsweek》50位全球最具影響力人士名單中，唯一的電影業人士。
據報導，雖然今年贊助廠商僅有32家，比往年少了約10家，但今年金球獎主辦單位號召企業界與演藝圈共同來做公益，慈善捐款目標訂在百萬美元以上，比去年捐出的85萬美元還多。
描述來自孟買貧民窟年輕人賈默，參加印度版「百萬大富翁」益智問答節目，一路順利答題卻被懷疑作弊、被逮補的《貧民百萬富翁》抱走最佳劇情、最佳導演、最佳劇本、最佳原著等 4項大獎，是今年最大贏家。而凱特溫斯蕾(Kate Winslet)則因兩部不同作品獲最佳劇情片女主角(Revolutionary Road)與最佳女配角(The Reader)兩個獎項。
去年初因用藥過量猝死的希斯萊傑(Heath Ledger)則以在《蝙幅俠：黑暗騎士》(The Dark Knight) 中精湛的演出，眾望所歸地拿下最佳男配角，成為史上第一位在去世後獲獎的演員，也為 2月美國電影奧斯卡獎最佳男配角獎邁進一大步。
同時，名導史蒂芬史匹柏(Steven Spielberg)因其在娛樂事業的傑出成就，在今年金球獎典禮上獲Hollywood Foreign Press Association (好萊塢外國記者協會) 頒發終身成就獎。
